Race Day Comments

For our last 15k time trial for 2011, seven riders arrived at Union Hall to good conditions; 23º C temps and 15-20k breeze, but a light breeze at race time. All riders finished. Fastest overall was Neil Farish (OBC) in a time of 24:29. Diane Marleau (OBC) was the fastest female in a time of 25:32. Fastest from ABC was Les Humphreys in a time of 25:40. Celia McInnis was fastest ABC female in a time of 26:21, a Season’s Best time. Timekeeper John Warren was ably assisted by Sherry Warren at the turn, and Bob Woods at the start and finish. This was the final time trial of the ABC season; and I would like to thank the volunteers who helped with timekeeping, turn marshal, and assisting at the start and finish; especially Sherry Warren and Bob Woods. A big thank-you to all who rode the events, we couldn’t do this without you! The annual end-of-season dinner takes place at the Union Hall on Saturday, Oct. 22 at 6 pm; guest speaker is ABC alumnus Alex Cataford, now one of Canada’s best Junior cyclists.
